The bills might be piling and your work ever accumulating, but all of that is sure to disappear if you look up at the sky from a different place on the earth.

A vast universe laid out just for us, and we deny ourselves the chance to explore? Not likely.

On this God-given or Big Bang produced planet, there are places that make us believe in the former. And I do not know about you, but the Big Ben is one such.

And if you are planning on visiting London anytime soon, then we have got, just the perfect list for you. Starting from places to visit in London, to things to do, right up to a little good old history class, read on to find out just how to maximize your trip to this beautiful city.

Delving into the history of London: Ancient to Present

The Holy Grail of Visiting London 1

The history of the United Kingdom is unknown to no one. One of the most influential nations in the world, the British were once the colonializers of half, if not, more of the world.

A country in Europe, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, usually known as the UK or Britain, is located off the continent’s northwest coast. It includes Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and England.

High land, knife-edged mountain ridges, and deep valleys cover a large portion of the northern and western parts of the United Kingdom. The last Ice Age, when the area was covered by massive glaciers, formed this terrain.

The majority of the landscape in the south of England consists of rolling hills.

Numerous lakes, or lochs, can be found in the Scottish Highlands and northwest England. When the Ice Age glaciers melted, these were left behind. They frequently have a long, narrow shape, and some are rather deep. Legend has it that Scotland’s Loch Ness is home to a gigantic creature known as Nessie.

The last part might just be my favorite thing ever.

London is a dynamic, multicultural city with a flourishing economy. The newest cocktail bars and charming taverns coexist in London, a city that is both old and new. Its oldest castle is located directly next to its most recent structures.

Londinium, as the Romans called it, has a roughly 2,000-year history. It has always been a potent spot because of its location on the strong River Thames and easy access to the estuary and the ocean beyond.

What to visit at the Big Smoke?

Where would I even start? With the bustling city being the home to millions and dreams of several more, the Big Smoke is as captivating and drowning as watching black smoke fume up the clear blue sky.

  1. Warner Bros. Studio Tour London

Coronavirus: Warner Bros Closes Harry Potter London Studio Tour – Deadline

Because I owe my entire reason for existence to Harry Potter and I am writing this article, I am going to be putting the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making Of Harry Potter, at the very top of this list. A tour that would tickle out the child in you, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour is an absolute must to be visited while in London. With sets that look like something out of this world, literally, since they got features in the Potter-verse, this is a delight for people of all ages.

  1. The National Gallery of London

National Gallery (London) - All You Need to Know BEFORE You Go

London is not just known for its ultra-modern lifestyle but also for its spectacular preservation of history and culture. Soak up a little bit of that during your tour, by buying yourself a ticket to the National Gallery of Art. And that was just a figure of speech, the museum doesn’t charge you, holding true to the word that knowledge is free. One of the most well-known tourist attractions in London, the National Gallery Museum, provides a nearly comprehensive overview of European paintings from 1260 to 1920. The museum’s extraordinary collection contains works by some of the most well-known artists in history, including Child by Leonardo da Vinci, Venus and Mars by Botticelli, The Waterlily Pond by Monet, and Sunflowers by Vincent van Gogh, among many more.

  1. The Buckingham Palace

How to Buy Tickets to Buckingham Palace in 2022 - Road Affair

Say what you want, those people knew how to live. With sprawling castles occupying a major portion of London, the housing situation was a bit on the upper side. The Duke of Buckingham had Buckingham Palace constructed in 1703 for him, and the British royal family has called it home since 1837. But today, it is regarded as one of the most prestigious tourist locations in the UK. Everything about a tour of Buckingham Palace, from leisurely observation to the Changing of the Guards, is grand and exhilarating.

  1. St Paul’s Cathedral

St Paul's Cathedral - Wikipedia

Touted as the Zenith of the English Architecture, the St Paul’s Cathedral, is a beauty to withhold. Holy from even its layout, the church is one of the peak of human creations. Additionally, St. Paul’s Church has a vast variety of art. Around the Cathedral, you can see a trail of artwork with theological messages. The cathedral’s dome, which belongs to the church, is built in a way that allows sound to travel exceptionally well up its thirty-meter-high whispering gallery. St. Paul’s Cathedral, the biggest and most well-known church in London, was erected on top of a Roman temple after the original one was destroyed in a fire.

  1. Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

One of the most known names around the world, it is imperative that you visit the Westminster Abbey on your tour to London. Large and imposing Westminster Abbey is an Anglican church that is well-known for housing many renowned people’s final resting places. This Royal Church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, draws millions of visitors each year with its rich past. The Abbey is a well-liked location for royal marriages and is home to numerous tombs, statues, and memorials.

London Must-Do’s

London Low Budget: Die besten Tipps für Euren Städtetrip

These are just a few of the places in London that you cannot miss, and we haven’t even started with the Big Ben, the Ferris Wheel, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the London Dungeon, the Thames River, Kew gardens, Hyde Park, and so many more.

Be sure to have an authentic cup of British tea, a walking tour of this big great city, a ride on the London eye, shop at Covent Garden, walk across the Tower Bridge and the Millennium Bridge, take a bus tour, etc.

When to Best Visit London?

London is at its most pleasant from March through May, when the weather is moderate and the parks are lush and in blossom. Late spring, like the summer, is a popular time for tourists, and rates for hotels and flights reflect this. So, be prepared to lose a few bucks, but it is so worth it.
