Gulf Shores Main Public Beach

Also referred to as Gulf Place, this is a fun-filled strand of light sands wherein Highway fifty-nine lifelessly ends at the Gulf of Mexico. With three sail-shaded areas and volleyball courts, this beach is its magnet, and traditional seafood joints and seaside bars add to the amusement. More to love: The city of Gulf Shores finished a multi-million-dollar mission to decorate this seashore for public use, such as ADA mats close to disabled parking regions that permit wheelchair and walker customers to gain access to the seashore. Parking is $ $5 for up to 4 hours or $10 for all day from March 1 – November 30; get there early before matters refill and test the town’s policies concerning seashore umbrellas and tents.

Ultimate Beach Vacation Packing List

April 8, 2026

At the eastern quiet of Gulf Shores, this gem of a national park holds three. Five miles of lovely and undeveloped white-sand beaches. A fishing and education pier right on the beach, plus gntry to the national park’s 28 miles of paved trails for trekking and cycling, a nature center and outdoor lecture room, a 900-acre fishing lake, guided nature walks, paddle boarding, and kayaking add to the spoils. Finally, the lovely new, eco-forward Lodge at Gulf State Park, a Hilton Hotel, makes Gulf State Park a true destination.

Tucked amid several popular condo towers that line Orange Beach, this sandy stretch of powder-white sand is officially part of (but now not contiguous to). With clean access to lifeguards, restrooms, and free parking, it’s a vacationer’s preferred. This fishhook-shaped barrier island at the doorway to Mobile Bay is a low-key gem with 17 miles of white-sand seashores, and its main public seaside is a first-rate, pet-friendly strand that faces the Gulf. The gentle drop-off makes this a superb choice for families. The walk-in rate is $2; automobile parking is $6 ($20 for RVs, buses, and trailers).

Beaches

Encompassing Dauphin Island’s western tip, this unspoiled splendor has possibly the island’s best sunset view (and that they’re all awesome here). It keeps its pristine high-quality, carefully held, with pick facilities—restrooms, a metals dealer, and chair apartment supplier—however, no pets, no glass, no grills, no fires, and no in a single day tenting allowed. Entrance is $three according to person (plus $3 parking) for the duration of the summer (June through Labor Day). Check the net calendar for the month-to-month Sunset Concerts right here, which can be sponsored by the city.

It doesn’t get any more pristine in Alabama than the Gulf-facing shoreline of this 7,000-acre stretch at the Fort Morgan Peninsula. A habitat for migrating songbirds and nesting sea turtles, among other valuable denizens, Bon Secour is a place for proper natural amusement: walking the beach, gambling in the surf, birdwatching, kayaking, and trekking its scenic trails. With vast, pale sands and masses of excellent surf, this Gulf State Park beach area in Orange Beach additionally has loose parking (albeit a constrained quantity). Be aware, even though: This seaside does not have outdoor showers or everlasting restroom centers (although it does have Port-o-allow restrooms).

This Gulf State Park beach area in Orange Beach encompasses the east aspect of Perdido Pass, giving it splendid views of the pleasure boats of all shapes and sizes that ply this channel between Perdido Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. The parking here is sufficient (and loose), and four boardwalks lead over dunes and sea oats to 6,000 feet of huge, powdery sands.

Fairhope Municipal Pier and Park

A huge, sandy seaside is just one of the things to like approximately this park that anchors the quaint metropolis on the Japanese shore of Mobile Bay. Considered Fairhope’s “city square,” the park capabilities a ¼-mile fishing pier, a marina, walking trails, a landscaped rose lawn, and even a duck pond. Meanwhile, the waves at the seashore itself tend to be mild, and a steady breeze off the bay makes for good kite browsing. Stretching like a six-mile ribbon of sugar-white sand west from the hubbub of Gulf Shores’s relevant shopping and eating district, the small beach city vibe gets quieter the similarly west you move. The result is a large, stunning seaside with the public getting admission to numerous junctures and lots of room for everybody.
